So let's see how you can get ready for uni!
Prepare all the necessary documents
The university usually sends emails regarding what documents you need to take, but you really need to be sure you have them all - and to have 2 or 3 copies of them. You need to take your passport, ID, driving licence (in the UK it's very useful), the exam diploma (I, for example, have the Romanian Baccalaureate Diploma), the IELTS certificate, the acceptance letter from the university, a page from the doctor with the vaccines you had and that's probably all.
Make lists, tons and tons of lists
While packing, I really had a hard time remembering what I have to take as there were so many things and I needed to make the suitcases equal in weight. The solution? Make lists! You should start them maybe a month before leaving because you'll remember the things you need to take along the way. Some of my lists were called 'clothes' or 'electronics', but after a while it became only one long list, full of stuff.
Lists are very useful, as you can tick the items you bought once and twice if you had packed them.
Take proper clothing
You should look and see how the weather is like in the city or area where your Uni is. If you are going to study in the UK, as I am, you really need to take warm clothing as there is really cold. Also, you should take waterproof jackets as there it is sunny 5 mins and then it rains for 10 mins. You should really be informed tho!
Take lots of pictures&things that remind you of home
If you'll move into a dorm room, you'll really need to customise the room to make it look more like home. You should take anything that reminds you of home, like a gift from your parents or from your bestie. Also, you should take lots of pictures of your family, friends, pets and everything you love. I know that you'll say you have photos on the phone, but it's a lot better to get up in the morning and to spot a picture with you and your parents on the wall.
Enjoy the last days home
Leaving for Uni also means leaving your home and your friends and family. And that really seems terrifying. At first, at least. My advice is to spend as much time as you can with your family and friends.
That's all guys, I hope you'll enjoy it and that you'll have a great time at uni!
